Booty Time
I am a self-confessed boot addict. Just can’t get enough and wear them throughout the year. My main weakness is a low heel ankle boot – you name a colour, I most likely have a pair.
Since having kids, I have pretty much parked any heels over 2 inches and live in flats, so I may as well have good options. And with the boom in popularity for functional styles these days, there is just so much choice. Low heel boots look great with skinny or cropped jeans, cropped trousers, short or midi dresses and skirts – no wonder they are such a wardrobe staple and an item I encourage my clients to own. However, I would be slightly careful if pairing with a knee length skirt, as there is a risk that the ankle boot can make your legs look shorter than they are by visually cutting off the bottom of the leg – certainly not a look I want to create with my already rather short pins!
Here are a few of my favourite picks for a range of budgets.
New Look, £35.99
Faux leather vegan biker boots, which will go with everything. Love the detailing and a good price point.
M&S, £59
These leather biker boots are a steal and look fantastic. This style is ubiquitous but you won’t get better value than this for real leather– no doubt these will be another M&S sell-out victory (keep your eyes peeled for new stock if they sell out).
Zara, £95.99
Super funky, incredibly comfy and definitely going to attract some compliments. These will look fantastic with midi and maxi styles or just over some skinny jeans
Sofie Schnoor for Very, £189
This designer is a go-to for me when looking for low heeled boots. Super stylish, sleek (love a pointy toe) and the detailing is spot on. These would be a staple in any wardrobe
Air & Grace, £279
Ok, so I may have a pair of these... they are incredibly comfy (as are all the A&G range), incredibly funky and go with everything! Win win.
Russell & Bromley, £325
Super luxurious and comfy – definitely an investment buy but these would live with you forever. Fantastic over skinny jeans or leather/pleather trousers; but would also work under maxi dresses.
Christian Louboutin (from NET-A-PORTER), £1475
Well, a girl can dream. How awesome are these yeti boots. Functional, yet totally bling. On the lust list, for sure.
So, if there is one thing that I can recommend you buy this season, get yourself some comfy, practical, yet super stylish flat boots – the hard part will be narrowing it down from the abundance of choice out there!
